Tropical trees, pink hues and swimming pools are ticking every box this week. Not only are we pining over the super cool wallpaper, but as this week’s soaring temperatures continue we’ve found ourselves fantasising over splashes of turquoise water, plush deck chairs and cocktails. Oh, if only we could all be at the Beverly Hills Hotel right now, so this week we’ve brought a little bit of this iconic gem to our studio on The Kings Road. We have some exciting new props coming up to make for an amazing summer studio shoot. Take in some of our inspiration and feel free to join us in our day dream…..

The beauty team have kindly recommended the following products for any of you wishing to recreate this look.

When recreating the “Audrey look” the key is to focus on hair and makeup with equal amounts of attention.

To achieve the doe-eyed look The Face London’s beauty team recommend using shades or brown, dark blue or grey with focus on eyelashes and eyeliner being key.

Laura Mercier Sequin Eye Colour has soft-sparkle effects that glisten and captivates (breathtaking)

The deep-impact shades can be swept over eyes softly for a stunning day look, or applied with more intensity for evening glamour.

The perfect tool in creating those deep doe-like eyes is this nifty “All over eye colour brush” from Laura Mercier, which is the ideal large flat head brush with a beveled edge for a smooth, perfect application of base shades.

When choosing your colour palette, which we’ve based on the recommendation of our brilliant beauty team, we found the Laura Mercier Riviera Eye Colours is an eye shadow palette containing four ‘of the moment’ shades which are perfect for creating those Audrey eyes!

To achieve those lovely fresh apple cheeks that Audrey sports so well, we recommend Chantecaille’s Poudre de Perle blush, The smart formula replaces traditional talc particles with weightless, silky and translucent optics that ensure skin clarity and luminosity. Our Beauty teams choice product for the month and once you give it a try you will soon find out exactly why!

For all over coverage that looks and feel natural we recommend Liz Earls sheer skin tint that is sure to leave your skin feeling and looking satin soft and stunningly fresh for Spring!

For lips the Beauty team recommend a matt peachy pink we chose MAC’s colour plus texture in “Please me.”

For the final and most important touch, our beauty experts insist that when it comes to bold, voluminous eyelashes Stila’s Glamoureyes mascara is the one and only!

This next generation of mascara perfectly adheres to each lash and instantly lengthens, volumises and curls for your softest, plushest lashes ever. Finnish with a flick of Chantecaille gel liner pencil on the lids, and there you have it!

An awe-inspiring Audry look, that is set to stun a few passers-by!!

Beauty muse….

Jane Birkin we adore you!

From the perfectly executed fringe to her effortless style, we just can’t get enough of Jane Birkin’s timeless elegance!

The beauty team at The Face London adore 60’s makeup-especially when it’s understated and not as obvious and contrived as we have seen it in the past.

The 60’s era has always been a personal favourite of mine- the mini dresses, the square heeled shoes and the doll-like hairstyles and eye makeup!

It’s easy to see why we have chosen Jane Birkin as our beauty muse for the month.

If there’s any particular era you would like to emulate on your next visit to our studio, please do let us know as our team of experts would love nothing more than to make your vision a reality.

Our beauty team encourage all clients to try something new and when you have a team as good as ours at your disposal, why the heck not?

Kiss and make-up!

A lot of our clients who attend the studio day- leave with a positive attitude and a spring in their step and are often amazed at how good they look and feel.

Our beauty experts are always on point and up to date with the latest and greatest of beauty trends and offer a warm and friendly consultation to all clients before the start of their session.

This week we asked the beauty team what their favourite looks were and what we can look forward to for AW12.

The top looks are listed below, and they are all so thrilling (who would have thought we would look forward to the cold grey months so soon?)

Grey nails, as seen at Chanel

A beautiful crystal, greyish taupe, Chanel Le Vernis in Frenzy is part of the 2012 Autumn Collection which is due out later this year.

We predict a riot.

Peacock eyes, seen at Roberto Cavalli

The enchanting hues of emerald-green, bronze and acid purple made for an interesting twist on the otherwise usual smoky eye ,(a winter trend almost every year!)

Eyeliner flicks, as seen at Lanvin.

The classic flicked eyeliner has been given a modern update, and we love it!!

Azure eyeliner flicks at Anna Sui

A personal favourite!

High shine plum lips, as seen at Gucci

The deepest and most delicious of scarlet lips were seen at Gucci and at Marni- burgundy was used on the eyes for an unconventional yet arresting look.

Raspberry red lips, as seen at Rich Owens

Red lips – Across the board at the London and New York shows in particular, bold red lipstick was the key component of the beauty looks at Rick Owens, Jonathan Saunders, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen and many more. Wear alone or with minimal other make-up for maximum impact.
